Don't Be So Serious

In a post by Sadhguru in The Speaking Tree, he talks about the three dimensions of the feminine  and the three basic qualities of the existence: tamas (inertia), rajas (activity), and sattva (breaking of boundaries, dissolution and melting and merging), connected by celestial bodies -- the Earth, Sun and Moon.

While the author talks about the aspirations of strength, power, wealth, passion for life in the material world, and knowledge, the passage that jumped off the page was "Once you learn to approach everything in a celebratory  way, you learn to be non-serious about life but absolutely involved in it."

He goes on to note that the problem with most is that when they feel something is important, that they become dead-serious about it; if not important, then lax.

The littlest things in life are important, as are the grandest of things; the rising of the Sun, the successful conclusion of a venture, family moments, witnessing a kindness and/or offering one, or merely immersing oneself in the joy of a passing moment.

We come into this life naked and leave the same.  Whether you believe in the life-after or not, Heaven or hell, all of our experiences, possessions and knowledge that we experience here on Earth are merely a life on loan; we can't take it with us.

Thus, to make the most of life, of this experience we call life, we have to fully engage in it without fear or trepidation. To do anything less is mere existence, not living.
